The Venice Vikings are a Pop Warner organization and our cheer teams participate in sideline cheer and competition cheer. Saturdays during the football season, teams will cheer-on their respective football counterparts from the sidelines. Cheer competitions kick off in October with the Peace River Cheer Competition. Teams that advance will go to the Regional Competition over Thanksgiving weekend in Orlando. Teams that advance after Regionals will go to the National Championships in early December back in Orlando.
Who is Eligible:
- Athletes Ages 3-16 as of July 31, 2024
Summer Conditioning:
- We will offer summer conditioning clinics from mid-June through mid-July (dates/times TBD). The clinics are optional, but a great way to get a head start on preparing for the fall season, get acclimated to the heat, and meet new friends. The clinics will be open to the community for free.
Overview of our 2024 Fall Season:
- August - For the first few weeks practice will be 4-5 days per week (Jr. Tiny Mites can only practice 2 hours per week).
- After school starts and the minimum number of conditioning hours have been met, practice will drop to 3 days per week (Jr. Tiny Mites can only practice 2 hours per week).
- Practice days and times are subject to be adjusted due to bad weather.
- August 17/18 Jamboree (some teams will play Saturday and others on Sunday).
- Game Schedule - Saturdays dates TBD.
- Peace River Cheer-off 10/20 at Hertz Arena in Ft Myers.
- Regionals - Thanksgiving weekend in Orlando.
- Nationals - December 7-14 in Orlando.
What do I need to Purchase:
- Athlete is responsible for purchasing gameday cheer shoes and competition cheer shoes.
Division's may be eliminated/consolidated depending on the number and age of athletes who enroll.
The Cheer Director will make the final determination on team placements.
